Questions about iCON Fans

Can I recess an iCON into the Wall?

YES

iCON15 recesses into the wall as standard. The iCON30 and iCON60 can either be surface mounted on the wall with the stylish narrow contour skirt provided, or recessed into the wall by cutting a slightly larger hole.

Can I install the iCON60 Kitchen Fan over a Hob?

NO

It is not possible to install an iCON60 directly over a hob in an exhaust flue. Heat and unfiltered airborne pollutants such as grease will reduce the life of a fan in this position. However, it is possible to locate a fan adjacent to the hob (outside the vertical vapour plume). In this application a 30 litre fan is permissible. The iCON30 being perfect for localized extraction. Elsewhere in the kitchen a 60 litre fan, the iCON60, should be installed in the absence of a ducted cooker hood.

How do I recess an ICON60?

As per instructions with a hole diameter of 160mm and then counter bored 190mm to a depth of approx. 75mm to take the larger body of the iCON60.

How much ducting is the iCON60 good for?

Up to 4m maximum

My low voltage iCON fan does not work when I install the timer into it but works ok when wired direct.

Is it wired correctly with a switched live both into the transformer and a switched live to the fan?
Is the timer module fitted a low voltage module? i.e. Part No. 72574204 Low Voltage Timer Module.
i.e. Part No. 72612601 Mains Timer Module.

There is a very faint clicking sound from my iCON15 fan upon installation.

If Flexi Duct is being used then it may be that it is catching on the rear impeller.

My new installed iCON15 is not working and I am sure all the wiring is correct.

Make sure that the outlet where the ducting is connected to the rear spigot of the fan is NOT too tight & restricting the impeller movement.

What is the noise level of the iCON fan range?

The iCON range of fans have the following Decibel ratings which have all been measured @ 3 metres
iCON15 - 35 Decibels
iCON30 - 34.5 Decibels
iCON60 - 44 Decibels

I have measured the incoming line into my low voltage transformer which is all correct but I appear to have nothing coming out of the transformer when I check with my meter.

The incoming mains into the transformer is AC Current. The output from the transformer is DC current so it may be that your meter does need to be changed over to measure DC to check properly.

My front cover does not open

Make sure that the white clip is in place on the end of the actuator. (spare clip is included within the fixing pack)

My front cover does not open or close fully or sometimes sticks

Make sure that the fan is fitted squarely on the wall
Make sure that front cover is fitted properly (firm click) and that the fixing screw is in place

Where does the EARTH wire go?

The iCON fan is fitted with a double insulated motor and does not require an earth.

What way do I have to turn the cover to remove it.

The front cover needs to be twisted in an Anti-Clockwise direction to remove.

My iCON30 or 60 fan shutters do not open fully.

Make sure that the black spacer is fitted onto the end of the actuator "plunger".

Does the unit require a module?

No the fan can be wired direct to a remote switch for straight on/off operation or a speed controller on the iCON 30/60 range.

Can i change the colour of front cover at a later date?

Yes all covers are interchangeable
