Passive House Certified
Passive House, or Passivhaus as it is also referred to, is a standard for energy efficiency in a building, which reduces the building's ecological footprint. Airflow produces a large range of residential and commercial MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) units with Passive House certification. Airflow is also a Passive House Trust member, which provides leadership in the UK for the adoption of the standard construction methodology which specifies MVHR.
ErP (Energy-related Products)
The Energy-related Products Directive is a framework that is designed to reduce greenhouse emissions by encouraging businesses to develop products with an emphasis on improving energy efficiency. The entirety of Airflow's product range not just meets the criteria outlined in the ErP regulations, but in many instances, far exceeds the requirements.
Quiet Mark Approved
Quiet Mark technically assesses and certifies the quietest solutions to unwanted noise. Airflow offers certified Quiet Mark products that operate at ultra-low noise levels and don’t compromise on performance.
Green Homes Compliance Scheme
The Green Homes Compliance Scheme was created to help installers identify products that will meet the Building Regulations requirements and deliver effective ventilation. It is important that an extract fan will remove air at a defined rate when installed – overcoming any resistance to airflow from ducts or grilles etc. Airflow’s products are designed and manufactured to meet Building Regulations.
Supply Chain Sustainability School
The Supply Chain Sustainability School is a free learning environment, upskilling those within the built environment sector. Airflow is committed to continuous improvement in sustainability and has achieved a Gold Level Membership by attending training sessions and completing assessments.
The SAP assessment incentivises low carbon developments. To help developers achieve their SAP assessment, Airflow offers several products and accessories with SAP eligibility.
All our products comply with the current Building Regulations Approved Document F1: Means of Ventilation (England and Wales). Airflow’s products also comply with Scottish Building Standards, Technical Handbook 2015 for Domestic and Non-Domestic Applications, Standard 3.14 and Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2014, Part K.
BIM (Building Information Modelling)
BIM describes the storage and representation of the relevant information of the construction and operation of a building in the digital format. BIM models are available for the majority of Airflow’s products to aid your design and construction process. Airflow's BIM models are compatible with Revit 2015 and newer.
IP (Ingress Protection) Ratings
The IEC has developed the ingress protection (IP) ratings, which grade the resistance of an enclosure against the intrusion of dust or liquids. Our fans are designed to meet international IP ratings. These ratings use two numerical classifications: one for water protection and the other for dust protection.
WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)
Airflow Developments LTD is registered under the Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) Directive Scheme. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment, and recovery of waste electrical equipment. The regulations also mean that suppliers of electrical equipment like us, must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.
