 NICEIC domestic ventilation course breakdown 

The NICEIC domestic ventilation course combines essential ventilation theory with practical, hands-on training to help installers understand, install and commission domestic ventilation systems correctly.

Across two days, delegates learn about ventilation principles, system types, installation requirements, commissioning and assessment. The course covers four key domestic ventilation systems: intermittent extract, dMEV, MVHR and PSV, providing practical knowledge that can be applied to residential projects.

 

Day one — ventilation principles and system types

The first day focuses on the fundamentals of domestic ventilation. You’ll learn why effective ventilation is important, how different systems operate and the requirements for providing adequate airflow within a home. The course introduces the key principles behind system selection, installation and performance, alongside an overview of the different ventilation technologies used in domestic properties.

Day two — practical installation, commissioning and assessment

Day two puts the theory into practice with hands-on installation and commissioning activities. You’ll develop practical experience of setting up ventilation systems, checking airflow performance and understanding the commissioning process. The course also includes an assessment to help confirm your understanding and application of the key principles covered throughout the training.

NICEIC Competent Persons Scheme

Successful completion of the training provides the required qualification to support an application to join the NICEIC Competent Persons Scheme for domestic ventilation systems. Please note that an additional application and fee apply to join the scheme. 

 

Cancellation

If you wish to change the date you have booked or can no longer attend a course, we ask that you notify customer_services@airflow.com at least two weeks in advance of the course start date. Cancellations within 2 weeks of the course start date will be non-refundable, however if there are spaces available, Airflow may agree to an alternative course date.

You will be notified as soon as possible if for any reason Airflow has to cancel a course date.
