Be Prepared for Winter

With exams over and winter weather arriving, there is still anxiety over Covid-19 rising in numbers. Masks are no longer mandatory, with lateral flow tests costing roughly £2, students and staff alike will be anxious as to what steps schools take to keep everyone safe. Here are some solutions manufactured  by Airflow to keep your school safe.

Most schools will only have windows or doors that act as ventilation. This is okay in the summer but becomes trickier in the winter. The question then becomes whether to open the windows and doors to ventilate the room or keep everyone warm by closing them. With heating becoming ever more expensive, losing this warmth is a much bigger cost.

The Duplexvent Flexi by Airflow is a great MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery) unit that is used mainly in new builds. Not only does this unit help reduce carbon emissions, but because of its design flexibility, it can be positioned on the floor or ceiling. Best of all the Duplexvent Flexi has a summer bypass so it does not recover heat in the summer months. So fresh filtered air from outside is still provided to staff and students.

The Susurro decentralized heat recovery unit is energy efficient, quiet and can be retrofitted into any classroom. The compact design gives a wide range for architects to work with. With a digital touchscreen, the Susurro can be adapted quickly to suit the needs of your classroom. Giving confidence to year 7's coming into the school for the very first time, knowing they are safer from Covid-19.

Airflow's Purigo units are here to ease your worries. These stunning units are air purifiers built-in with HEPA 14 filters (hospital grade filters). These filters can remove up to 99% of impurities in the air. The freestanding units can be placed in any classroom or hall and do not need any other support, therefore movable from room to room.

New non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) CO2 monitors have been added to Airflow's collection of products. A great way to get an indication of the air quality of a classroom or school hall.  Tackling the issue of rooms without clean air can seem like a challenge. These CO2 monitors work great in conjunction with any of the units described above.
